The Mekeba Z. Sharp foundation is a non profit organization focused on providing education and mentoring opportunities to local youth throughout the Washington metro area. The foundation namesake, Mekeba Z. Sharp, was a notable figure within communications and her local community. Her more than 20 year professional career included work with DC"s Fox5, WETA-PBS NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, C.B. Richard Ellis (CBRE presented & honored her with the Ambassador Award in December 2002) and other affiliates that span across television/ media, real estate & banking. She later became a published author which included fiction title "Chase" and the CEO of Prahs, Inc.

Branding thought leaders, executives and corporate entities to the forefront of their respective industry and creating a niche for products and services through communication, was her daily commitment. As her dedication to her professional craft increased, she did not waiver in her commitment to mentor and nurture our youth.

Her passion for the youth to bring about change and the answers to many societal challenges was ever present in her life. She remained focused on her mission to serve professionally and throughout her community. In, 2016, after her transition from this life, her family decided to create the Mekeba Z. Sharp foundation in her honor.

Through its mission, this foundation has been entrusted to support local youth throughout the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan area.
